MC

Master of Ceremonies abbreviated to EmCee or MC also known as a Compere, Host, Presenter or Program Director  who speaks to the audience, presents or introduces guests, performers and speakers, entertains the audience, and generally keeps a the event moving. As such, the term occurs in entertainment industry, including for television show hosts, as well as in contemporary hip hop as well as electronic dance culture where MC refers to a type of Rap artist or performer who performs vocals for their own original material.
